About Fernwood Sword Club.

Fernwood Sword Club was established in September 2008 by founder Chairperson, Andrew Sutton, and Founding Head Coach, Robert Pryer.

A lack of facilities for fencers, new and old, led to Andrew and Robert forming the Club as a means of providing facilities to existing fencers in the Newark and Grantham area, and to introduce fencing to the area, and into local schools and colleges to create fencers of the future. Rob has now emigrated to Australia, but we have a small team of qualified coaches who lead the club.

The Club is a relaxed, friendly and social Club which encourages everyone to get involved in fencing, whatever your age or fitness levels.  The Club meets on a Tuesday and offers fencing opportunities for junior and adults, with our Junior section having started on 28th April 2009.

The Club meets on :

Tuesday evenings 7-8.15 juniors and 8-10 older juniors and seniors)

at Newark Sports and Fitness Centre, Bowbridge Road, Newark.

The Club fences mostly foil, but also epee and sabre.

We welcome any visiting fencers to our club.  Come along any Tuesday evening and you'll receive a warm welcome.
